                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 1000
                   BLOCK OF EAST 17TH STREET, BEING ON THE
                   SOUTHWEST LINE OF EAST 17TH STREET AT POLK
                   STREET FROM R-3 RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO M-1
                   MANUFACTURING ZONE.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                A tract of land located in the 1000 block of East
                17th Street, being on the southwest line of East
                17th Street at Polk Street.  Lots 157-160, Orange
                Grove Subdivcision, as shown by plat of record in
                plat book 3, page 39, R.O.H.C.; being part of the
                property described in deed book 3995, page 11,
                R.O.H.C. Tax Map No. 146P-J-12 (part).
               
               
         from R-3 Residential Zone to M-1 Manufacturing Zone.
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, the 
public
         welfare requiring it.
